Who we are

MMI is the international aid and development organisation of the Sisters of St Joseph. In the spirit of Mary MacKillop, we work in partnership with local communities to enable them to fully participate in society. We work in the areas of education, health and livelihoods.

The core principles of Mary MacKillop International are Human Dignity, Common Good, Participation and Subsidiarity and Option for the Poor.

Our Story

For over  150 years members of the SOSJ have been committed to demonstrating the love of God in real and practical ways.

Mary MacKillop’s Story

Mary was born in Victoria to Scottish immigrants. At the age of 24 she dedicated her life to God and took on the name “Mary of the Cross”.
